Sister's Quilt is actually part of the main topic, so I won't go into detail until then.

Interesting News
Oregon Ferret Shelter is having an quilting bee to help put together a quilt that will be raffled off at their holiday event. For more information please check this link.

Main Topic- Applique
I explain why I'm using applique on my sister's quilt, and why it's not going 100% correctly.

What I'm using:
Heat N Bond
Kona Cotton Solids White Layer Cake by Robert Kaufman
Kona Cotton Solids Bright Palette Charm Pack by Robert Kaufman
Sizzix Bird Die

In the Notebook
This is a new segment on ideas that I have planned for future quilts.

Mom's Quilt- I have no idea what to do!!!

Question of the Week Answers! I read an answer that I got back!

Question of the Week: Do you machine or hand quilt your quilts? If you machine quilt, do you do it at home (home sewing machine or longarm) or do you send it out to a professional.

You can either e-mail me at splashjournal at yahoo dot com or leave a post here on the show notes. Your responses will be read during episodes 4 and 5.

Thanks for listening to this episode! A very special Halloween one will be coming up next week!!!

  1. Hi Rachel

When I started quilting, I quilted on my home sewing machine - and hated having to shove a big quilt through that small space. So, I decided I would either have to pay to have my quilts quilted or buy a machine myself. I bought a mid arm (Handiquilter 16) and use that.

  3. Hi Rachel,
I am enjoying your podcast. I machine quilt my quilts at home on my Bernina. I enjoy free motion quilting but it is difficult on large quilts. Thank you!
